Our client is a leading UK residential developer operating across multiple large-scale construction sites and corporate functions. With increasing reliance on digital systems to support operations, supply chain coordination, and customer delivery, cyber resilience is critical to maintaining business continuity and protecting stakeholder trust.
The client sought to assess the Executive Team’s ability to respond to and recover from a severe but plausible cyber incident, specifically a ransomware attack involving a ransom demand. Key objectives included validating the effectiveness of existing crisis management and business continuity arrangements, testing executive decision-making under pressure, and identifying gaps in response capability.
A further challenge was to reflect the complexity of real-world incidents, where cyber disruption can coincide with operational and safety issues at active sites. The client required a highly realistic, immersive exercise that would challenge leadership, test cross-functional coordination, and provide meaningful insights to strengthen resilience.
The exercise provided the client with a realistic and challenging assessment of executive-level crisis readiness, enabling them to validate key elements of their existing crisis management and business continuity frameworks.
Through the immersive and high-pressure environment, the Executive Team strengthened their understanding of roles, responsibilities, and decision-making processes during a cyber crisis. The exercise also raised awareness of the evolving cyber threat landscape and reinforced the importance of coordinated, cross-functional response.
The engagement delivered clear, actionable insights to enhance crisis coordination, communication, and recovery strategies, supported by a prioritised set of recommendations. This has provided the client with a structured roadmap to further strengthen cyber resilience and executive preparedness for future incidents.
